What This License Is
This Institutional Viewing License describes what a school or a senior living community is purchasing when it buys an institutional membership from The Elite Pianist, LLC — Elite Pianist for Schools or Elite Pianist for Senior Living.
It is written to be read before you purchase or agree to an institutional membership, so that everyone involved — the person signing, the person paying and the person who will actually run the programming — knows exactly what the institution is getting.
In one sentence
An institutional membership is an organizational license for one physical location, together with customized onboarding and a delivery configuration built around the people that location serves.
The Institution Is the Customer
With an institutional membership, the customer is the institution — the school, or the senior living community — and not any individual student, resident, teacher or staff member.
The institution holds the license. Billing is to the institution. The rights described here belong to the institution and are exercised by the people it authorizes.
This is what makes an institutional membership different in kind, and not merely in size, from an individual membership. Individual memberships — Live, Encore and Elite — are for individual use by the named subscriber and carry no organizational or group viewing rights.
One License, One Location
One institutional membership covers one physical location.
- One Elite Pianist for Schools membership covers one physical school location.
- One Elite Pianist for Senior Living membership covers one physical community or facility.
Multiple physical locations require separate institutional memberships, unless The Elite Pianist, LLC expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
A district with several schools does not automatically receive access for every school from a single membership. An operator with several communities does not automatically receive access for every community from a single membership. If you are responsible for more than one location, write to us — that is a conversation we are happy to have.
Customized Onboarding
Onboarding is part of the institutional membership, not an administrative hurdle attached to it.
Institutions are not alike. A school with a dedicated music department and a one-to-one device program has different needs from a school where the experience will live in a single auditorium. A community whose residents are largely independent has different needs from one whose programming is entirely staff-led. Rather than pushing every organization through the same account structure, we work out the right configuration with you.
During onboarding we determine, with you, how access will be delivered inside your location, who will hold and use it, and what practical setup makes sense for your program, your staff and the people you serve.
Your Designated Coordinator
Each institutional customer identifies an appropriate representative for us to work with. That might be a:
- program coordinator;
- facilitator;
- administrator;
- teacher or faculty contact;
- activity or programming staff member; or
- other appropriate organizational representative.
That person is our primary institutional contact. They are the person we plan with during onboarding, the person we reach out to about programming, and the person responsible for how access is used inside the institution. Please let us know when the appropriate contact changes, so that nothing falls between two desks.
How the License Can Be Delivered
The delivery model is chosen with you during onboarding. Any of the following may be appropriate, and the flexibility is deliberate.
Facilitated programming
Authorized staff or faculty present Elite Pianist to a group in an appropriate space at the licensed location — a classroom, music room or auditorium at a school; an activity room, lounge, theater or common area at a senior living community.
Individual participant access
Where it makes sense for your location, eligible students or residents may be provided with individual access so they can enjoy Elite Pianist independently. This is available where appropriate; it is not an automatic account for every student or every resident.
A flexible combination
Many institutions use both: shared, facilitated programming for the community or the classroom, plus individual access for the participants for whom that is a good fit.
Participant Eligibility
Where individual participant access is provided through an institutional membership, that access is tied to the licensed institution.
Students
- eligibility comes through the licensed school;
- the access is associated with that school’s institutional program;
- it may not be transferred or sold;
- it may not be used to give another school access;
- eligibility may end when the student is no longer eligible through the institution; and
- eligibility may end when the school’s institutional membership ends.
Residents
- the access is associated with the licensed facility;
- the resident must be eligible through that facility;
- it may not be transferred to friends or family, and may not be sold;
- it may not be used to provide another facility with access;
- eligibility may end when the resident is no longer associated with the licensed facility; and
- eligibility may end if the facility’s institutional membership ends.
Wherever practical, individual participant credentials should be used rather than distributing a shared institutional password. We may introduce and change the practical means by which eligibility is established and periodically reconfirmed, and we will work with your coordinator when we do.
What This License Does Not Cover
The institutional membership does not by itself authorize:
- public ticketed screenings;
- commercial public exhibitions;
- events open to the general public;
- use at any location other than the licensed location;
- copying;
- recording;
- redistribution;
- uploading performances anywhere else;
- sublicensing;
- resale; or
- commercial distribution.
Access provided under an institutional membership may not be transferred outside the licensed institution, and may not be used to give another location access.
Requesting Written Permission
Uses outside this license require separate written permission from The Elite Pianist, LLC. If your institution would like to do something this license does not cover — a community event open to the public, a ticketed benefit, a program shared across more than one location — write to support@elitepianist.com. Asking is welcome, and it is usually straightforward to arrange.
Term, Renewal and Ending the License
An institutional membership is a recurring membership. It renews automatically until it is canceled, on the renewal terms disclosed to the institution at purchase, and the institution may cancel to stop future renewal charges.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, or unless we have expressly stated otherwise for a specific offer, access continues through the end of the billing period the institution has already paid for. The rights described in this license apply only while the institutional membership is active, and any participant access provided under it ends with it.
Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds and price changes are set out in the Terms of Service.
Relationship to the Terms of Service
This Institutional Viewing License forms part of the institution’s agreement with The Elite Pianist, LLC, together with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
The Terms of Service govern the wider relationship — billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, intellectual property, content availability, suspension and termination, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law and the dispute process. Where this license addresses institutional use specifically, it is read together with those Terms.
Before you purchase
By purchasing an institutional membership, the institution agrees to the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and this Institutional Viewing License.
